Frequently Asked Questions
Appointments & Treatment
Your initial evaluation is a comprehensive, one-on-one appointment focused on understanding your symptoms, concerns, goals, medical history, movement patterns, and daily activities.

Your physical therapist may assess strength, mobility, balance, coordination, functional movement, and other factors related to your condition.
You will receive an explanation of the findings and a personalized plan of care. Treatment and education may begin during the first visit when appropriate.
Every treatment plan is designed around your specific needs, goals, lifestyle, and response to care.
Your sessions may include mobility and flexibility work, strength and conditioning, balance and coordination training, movement retraining, manual therapy, dry needling when appropriate, activity modification, pain education, home exercise programming, and return-to-sport or return-to-activity planning.
Your plan will be adjusted as you progress.
Rooted Motion Physical Therapy works with individuals experiencing a variety of orthopedic, sports, mobility, and persistent pain concerns.
Areas of care may include neck and back pain; shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions; hip, knee, ankle, and foot conditions; sports and exercise-related injuries; tennis and recreational sport injuries; hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome-related concerns; POTS-related exercise needs; chronic or persistent pain; balance, strength, and mobility limitations; return to activity after injury; and wellness or injury-prevention goals.
The number of visits varies based on your condition, goals, medical history, activity level, and response to treatment.
Some patients may need only a few focused visits, while others may benefit from ongoing care over a longer period. Your physical therapist will discuss a recommended plan after your evaluation and adjust it based on your progress.
We typically recommend beginning with an initial plan of 4–6 visits. This gives us enough time to complete a comprehensive clinical evaluation, begin treatment, assess how you respond, and make meaningful adjustments to your plan of care.
Visit frequency is individualized based on your needs, goals, and response to care.
Appointments may initially be scheduled weekly or at another appropriate frequency. As you become more independent and your symptoms improve, visits may be spaced farther apart.
Our goal is to provide the support you need while helping you build confidence and independence in managing your health and movement.
